South west France

So, after some superb time in the mountains we're back in France. Avoiding the crowded (madhouse, cause all the frenchies got holiday!) South-West coast, we kept on driving over the small inland/B-roads.

After a while we came in the Bordeaux-wine grape fields area. Here we followed the wine-castle route ;-)). The wine test route.

In the evening we found a very nice, clean place to rest/sleep. A small lake in a forrest.
A nice welcome in the heat.

Unbelievable.. Such a nice place and no one around

Doggy paradise

Time to sleep under the stars again

Revving it up through the mountains!

This is how a playground for cars look like

Nonstop playing with the gears (up/down switches on steeringwheel)

Nice empty winding roads with zillion curves/hairpins

The whole road just for yourself

Tricky hairpins in the clouds

Obstacles

Revving it up uphill. The exhaust sound reflexes nicely back from the mountain walls

Superb spectacular views!

Into the Pyrenees

Curvy winding roads + countless hairpin bends..
(check out those roads on the mountain in the back)

Time to go of the beaten track and dive into the Pyrenees mountains. I took the map and searched for small high winding roads. To find some nice area's/nature, but also hoping to find some nice empty curvy roads to play with the car.

Aha, the mountains are there

This forest looked like a jungle. Water/rivers, green and hot

We're getting deeper and deeper into the mountains. The totally empty winding roads are coming.
Time to shift the car into manual gear and unleash some horses ;-)....

Fine nights

Got often this question: Where do you sleep when you travel without your bus, and you don't go to hotels/pensions/campings?

Simple. I like to sleep in the open/fresh air, under the stars.
Search for a nice place, take the airbed out of the car, plug it in the 12V, inflated.... and voila your bed is ready. Enjoy the night in the free

Sleeping with this view is way more worth than sleeping in a Hotel with a big TV screen at the end of your bed...

ps, keep the place where you stay clean!
